The effect of instructional methods on computer attitudes

摘要
This study examined the difference between the effect of supervised, dictated, and mandatory computer experience (lecture-lab) and self-paced, self-instructed, and unsupervised experience (lecture-only) on computer attitudes. This study examined 158 university students attending computer literacy courses taught by two different departments using two different means of instruction, One course was taught using the lecture-lab method and the other was taught by the lecture-only method. The Computer Attitude Scale (CAS) instrument was administered as a pretest at the beginning of the semester and as a posttest at the end of the semester to measure computer attitudes. Only the attitude of computer anxiety was significantly changed by the method of instruction. The lecture-lab method affected a positive change only in the attitude of computer anxiety with p = .001.
