Respiratory disease is reported to be the most costly disease of beef cattle. This article discusses the impact of respiratory disease, citing The Texas Ranch to Rail Program, the United States Meat Animal Research Center (MARC) Evaluation of Therapeutic Treatment, and Lung Lesions in Beef Cattle at Slaughter studies in evaluating the economic imapct of bovine respiratory disease (BRD).
