摘要
The effects of the core thickness, relative density and cell size of aluminum foam sandwich panels on the compressive properties are investigated by quasi-static and uniaxial compression tests with SUNS Electron Universal Material Testing Machine. Characteristic response curves are presented for a range of core thickness, relative density and cell size. The results indicate that the plateau stress in compressive stress-strain curves of aluminum foam sandwich panel is increased with the rise of the core thickness, and the energy absorption efficiency is higher if the cell size of aluminum foam core is larger. As the relative density increasing, the energy absorption ability of the aluminum foam sandwich panels improved simultaneously.
