Simulation of thermal breakdown of a reactor vessel as a result of a heavy accident in a nuclear power plant with reactors of VVER (water-moderated water-cooled power reactor) type

摘要
The mathematical model is given of dissolution and melting of the reactor vessel that simulates a possible scenario of a heavy accident. The heat-transfer, mass-transfer, and hydrodynamic problems are treated in cylindrical coordinates for a two-component two-phase, energy-releasing medium. The conditions of dissolution and melting of a steel wall are formulated. The results are given of the calculation of interaction between the melt and reactor vessel.
