Gas-solid mass transfer experiments were carried out in an air/naphthalene system with respect to single artificial cluster and artificial heterogeneous structure consisting of multiple clusters and real circulating fluidized bed. It is indicated that mass transfer rate is dependent not only on cluster size, shape and its internal voidage, but also on the heterogeneous structure of multiple clusters. Particularly, the dynamic formation and dissolution of clusters has dominant role in gas-solid mass transfer.
