Wollastonite as a substitute for lime in phosphorous control during digestion and as precoat or filter-aid for pregnant liquor filtration in the Bayer process

摘要：
The use of wollastonite, a calcium silicate, is considered as a substitute for lime to control phosphorous in Bayer digestion and as precoat or filter-aid in the Bayer filtration process. Its stability in Bayer liquor and efficiency to control phosphorous was studied and is reported. Bayer liquor filtration rate against wollastonite dosage is presented and compared to standard lime precoat and filter-aid.
