摘要：
The article presents the name Duszan against the Slavic background and the name Spirydion, associated with the Slavic name Duszan. It demonstrates that the range of occurrence of both names in the Slavic territory rather rules out a thesis that they are etymologically related. A pool of Polish surnames is used as a basis to present Old Polish nomenclature with the root duch/dusz- and to discuss the present situation.
