摘要
What would the world be like without registered nurses (RNs) coordinating care and managing transitions? An exploratory descriptive qualitative case study design interviewing four volunteers was used to explore the perspectives of individuals representing four generations of healthcare consumers and their reflections on what care would be like without RNs as person centered care coordinators and transition managers. Four generations, four different perspectives, yet consistent responses: Without RNs coordinating care and managing transitions, health care would be unsafe, chaotic, crumble, and cease to exist; chronic illnesses would be unmanaged or mismanaged; and people would die.
