New Ni(II) and Co(II) coordination polymers: synthesis, structures and magnetic properties

摘要
Using 4-(3-Carboxyphenyl)picolinic acid (H(2)cppa), a pyridine-carboxylate ligand to react with its relevant metal salts in the existence of a second N-donor chelating ligand 2,2'-bipyridine (2,2'-bipy) under different reaction conditions, two new coordination polymers (CPs) were produced, and their chemical formulae are {[Ni(mu-cppa)(2,2 '-bipy)(H2O)]center dot H2O}(n) (1) and [Co(mu-cppa)(2,2 '-bipy)(H2O)](n) (2). The magnetic investigations indicate that the two compounds prepared possess the antiferromagnetic coupling between neighboring metallic ions.
