Ligand-imposed structural features of transition metal complexes with heterocyclic benzoylhydrazones

摘要
Copper(II), nickel(II) and cobalt(II) complexes of some benzoylhydrazones, viz. furyl-2-methylketone benzoylhydrazone (FMBH) and thiopene-2-methylketone benzoylhydrazone (TMBH) have been synthesises. The molar conductivity data show them to be non-electrolytes. The tridentate nature of the ligands is inferred from ir spectral studies. The magnetic moment values together with the electronic spectral data suggest an octahedral structure for all the complexes. Various esr parameters for copper complexes have been calculated.
