Analysis of the thermoelastoplastic state of a plate by the finite-element method

摘要
Within the framework of the theory of nonisothermal elastoplastic flow, by applying the von Mises yielding condition, we study the evolution of the stress-strain state of a copper-zinc plate in the process of cooling and the distribution of residual stresses under the conditions of high intensity of cooling. On the basis of the principle of virtual work, we formulate a finite-element model of plastic flow in terms of a specially constructed functional. The stressed stare of the plate and the evolution of the zones of plastic yield are analyzed for cooling with rates varying within the range 3000-10,000 degrees K/sec. Under the indicated conditions of cooling, the plate does not fail.
