On filament width in oceanic plankton distributions

摘要：
A plankton patch deformed by diffusion, straining flow and biological growth is demonstrated to have a minimum width, root kappa/lambda, which is purely a function of the effective diffusivity, kappa, and the strain rate, lambda.
