摘要
In order to expound the spatial distribution characteristic, sources and potential ecological risk of Heavy Metals in Liaodong Bay, China, the surface sediments were collected to be analyzed from 61 sites. The research results showed that the spatial distribution characteristic of heavy metals concentration in Liaodong Bay was obviously discrepant, where the north was higher than the south, and the west was higher than the East. The ecological risk status of Liaodong Bay sediment was at the level of "Moderate Risk". Hg and Cd were the main factors of pollution that caused the highest ecological risk. Source apportionment of heavy metal indicated that Hg and Cd in Liaodong Bay sediments might be introduced by petrochemical industry projects and offshore oil and gas development activities. Pb, Zn and Cu mainly came from the use of fossil fuels and chemical production processes, while As mainly came from agriculture. (C) 2022 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
