摘要
Due to the presence of musculoskeletal injuries in the health service in an electromechanical company, an exploratory study has been conducted with the purpose of establishing the incidence and prevalence of musculoskeletal pain syndromes and their relations. The sample consisted of 1,253 employees and the result was that 33% of the workers reported musculoskeletal pain in an often and daily basis. The most affected body segments were the shoulders (12.69%), followed by the lower limbs and spine. The majority of employees related the pain syndromes to the performance of their labor function (65.94%), classifying the discomfort degree as significant (70.3%) and it was found that the clinical condition tended to become chronic since the symptoms had more than six months of duration (39.86%). We conclude that despite being a preliminary study, there are a several number of company's employees with frequent musculoskeletal pain of significant intensity and subjectively work-related, who delay seeking the occupational health medical service, with impacts on their daily life personal and organizational activities.
