摘要：

This paper is a reflection on the Rustumid political model, which has been interpreted in many different ways in the available historiography. Was it a hereditary monarchy or an elected power? A sedentary state or a bedouin polity? How was succession organized within the Rustamid family? The following remarks will attempt to answer some of these questions.
