摘要
The Ng-Yan-Zeng framework of fashion statement has demonstrated the linguistic structure of a fashion statement and its relationship to the abstract design elements, concrete design elements and the physical garment. Such linguistic structure forms a communication system between the fashion designers and public whom receive and interpret the fashion statement (within beauty aspect). Since the primary function of a fashion garment is to beautify the wearer, aesthetic is also a virtual issue in the design process. Hence, the next improvement on this Ng-Yan-Zeng framework is to study how the aesthetic aspect of such fashion communication system works, and the associated hermeneutic process. The analysis starts with a comprehensive review on the aesthetics and fashion aesthetics as well as hermeneutic process, so as to clarify the definitions and concepts that would be used in this study. Then, the interpretation of the aesthetic aspects of the fashion statement will be analyzed based on the relationship along the branches of elements within the linguistic lattice representing the fashion statement. Finally, once the whole process is defined, the effectiveness of the communication can be measured by using a fuzzy transformation of the semantic information into nominal data.
