摘要
In the present study, a new and low cost adsorbent for removal of fluoride from aqueous solution was prepared with fly ash and cerium chloride by impregnation-precipitation method. The effects of three parameters on the removal of fluoride, which are contact time, pH of the solution and the dose of modified fly ash were investigated. As a result, it was found that using modified fly ash as adsorbent to remove fluoride from aqueous solution, the fluoride adsorption capacity was 1.28 mg.g(-1) at pH 4.0, 30 degrees C, contact time 6 h, the dosage of modified fly ash 16 g.L(-1) and 50 mL fluoride solution with an initial fluoride concentration of 30 mg.L(-1). The equilibrium data were fitted to the Freundlich isotherm model. It is observed that the adsorption capacity of modified fly ash increases significantly and the chemical activity of initial fly ash is excited by cerium oxide.
