摘要
This paper presents the study on sclera as a biometric authentication system. Many of biometric systems from the traditional fingerprint to the iris-based recognition system are used for identifying individuals. Sclera as a biometric recognition system has gained much importance and popularity nowadays. In this study, an overview of sclera found in the literature, different techniques used in extracting, enhancing and matching are discussed. As an identification system that requires rigorous testing databases are used, the databases related to system are discussed briefly. Various biometric parameters that are used in the process of recognition are also presented. This study is concluded with the future scope of the system, limitations, and further research directions.
