摘要
Due to the widespread use, improving the sustainability of any pavement structures will give the potential to deliver tremendous environmental, social, and economic benefits, and the increasingly stringent environmental regulations and the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions have inspired the transportation agencies and practitioners to cycle more waste materials. To promote and take full advantages of the currently available innovative technologies in transportation infrastructure, a Special Volume (SV) of the Journal of Cleaner Production (JCPL) was initiated. This SV consists of 26 papers mainly from the 10th International Conference on Road and Airfield Pavement Technology (10th ICPT, 2017). Papers from regular submissions with the themes on Sustainability in Transportation Infrastructure were also included in the SV. This SV covers the following four themes: Theme 1: Sustainable asphalt paving mixtures; Theme 2: Sustainable cementitious pavement materials; Theme 3: Sustainable and eco-friendly pavement systems; Theme 4: Quantification of benefits and life cycle assessment.
