The Development Crisis of China's Small and Medium-sized Cities in Terms of Population, Resources and Environment: Taking Taian City as an Example

Based on the analysis of the present situation of population development and population forecast in Taian city, its cultivated land resources and the carrying capacity of its water resources are calculated and analyzed respectively; The population and resource environment fitness in its administrative region is also explored based on the ecological footprint model and ecological profit and loss dynamic analysis. So the development problems of population, resources and environment, with which China's small and medium-sized cities are confronted, are revealed. Some countermeasures are put forward.
