Timing synchronization for OFDM-based WLAN

摘要
Due to its efficiency for high-speed data transmission, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) scheme has been widely adopted as a transmission technology for many wireless LAN (WLAN) standards such as IEEE802.11a WLAN and HIPERLAN2. The performance of an OFDM system heavily relies on its timing and frequency synchronization. In this paper, we propose a new timing synchronization technique for OFDM-based WLANs. The proposed method can detect an OFDM signal and accurately estimate the beginning of the OFDM signal simultaneously with low-complexity.
