Evaluation of the development of ICT sector in regions of Czech Republic in years 1995-2014

This paper deals with the evaluation of the development of sector of information and communication technologies, as defined by NACE Rev. 2 sections J, in regions of the Czech Republic. Evaluation of the development of regional concentration on selected sector is supported by combination of point method and collection of selected methods of economic-geographical analysis. This analysis of evaluation of ICT sector development is done in broad period of years between 1995 and 2014. The aim of this paper is to identify in which NUTS 3 regions in the Czech Republic the economic activity is related to information and communication technologies gradually concentrating, and what is the gradual development of this sector on level of Czech regions. The source of used empirical data is the Czech Statistical Office. It was found out that the growing concentration tendency of ICT industry is happening in three regions of the Czech Republic, Capital City of Prague (Prague Region), The South Moravian Region and The Moravian-Silesian Region.
