Golden Gate Bridge EQ Response & Damage Assessment

The Golden Gate Bridge Earthquake Response and Damage Assessment Plan has been established to provide rapid inspection and evaluation of the structural components of the Bridge following a seismic event. This plan, combined with the Seismic Instrumentation Progam of the Golden Gate Bridge, provides for emergency responses including rapid repairs and possible traffic lane closures programmed to correspond with the findings of the rapid inspection, evaluation of the intensity of structural responses measured by seismic instrumentation, and structural analysis of the Bridge using synthetic ground motion data generated for the seismic design and the real-time ground motion data.
