Meta-Analysis, Systematic, and Integrative Reviews: An Overview

Over the past 10 years there has been an increasing interest is evidence based simulation practice. At the same time multiple reviews of simulation have been published that provide data on the science of simulation. Nurse educators utilizing simulation understand it takes less time to read a methodologically sound simulation review than it does to read multiple research studies or the many articles included in an integrative or review of simulate literature. Understanding the processes used for different kinds of reviews can bring clarity to the quality and usefulness of a review. This short communication is an effort to provide information on the definition of a meta-analysis, systematic, and integrative review.
