A method developed to analyze the hydraulic performance of centrifugal oil pumps, with the help of three curves, was discussed. The three curves that were illustrated include: head-flow rate, power-flow rate and efficiency-flow rate. The attempt was to calculate the several parameters that described the sub-macro-characteristics such as slip factor, hydraulic, volumetric and mechanical efficiencies, based on the performance and geometry of impeller at best efficiency point (BEP). The results show that the slip factor increases and decreases, hydraulic efficiency decreases, volumetric efficiency keeps constant or increases and the mechanical efficiency reduces quickly, while the viscosity increases in all the four parameters.
