摘要：

This paper presents results or research on speech analysis and recognition, using novel architectures of fuzzy neural networks (multilayer perceptrons) and fuzzy spatial temporal maps. The introduced methodologies and frameworks allow for comprehensive speech data analysis and for building adaptive speech recognition systems with different applications. Such systems recognise spoken words and phrases then adapt in real time to new accents and dialects. An experimental system on English-to-Maori translation is presented as an illustration.
