摘要
Absorbent disposable products, such as sanitary napkins, diapers, tampons, incontinence products, panty shields, wipes, etc., are mostly single-use items and are designed to receive, absorb, and retain body fluids and solid wastes. This paper reports the development and analysis of sanitary napkin made of two different fibers, namely, aloevera and regenerated bamboo. The antimicrobial effect of these samples is compared against bacteria such as E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Superabsorbent polymer like sodium polyacrylate has been incorporated into the napkin to enhance their absorption capacity. Various tests such as product absorption capacity, liquid strike through, and rewet under load have been carried out to study the performance of the sanitary napkins.
