Application of boron selective resin in ultra-pure water system

This paper reports the very first example of the baron-selective resin, amberlite 743T tested under simulated ultra-pure water plant operation conditions. The break-through curves as well as adsorption isotherms were measured far the resin, and the results were compared with those of a conventional SBAER. The baron selective ion exchange resin exhibited a higher baron operating capacities for a range of boron concentration in solutions with and without anions other than baron. Based on the experimental findings, a blueprint of a boron-free ultra-pure water system with either pre-installed or retrofitted boron polisher unit was made. Our claim is that the system produces effluent water with baron concentration of less than 10 ppt, and its expected operating capacity to surpass that of a conventional system.
