Meaning of the spiritual dimension of health care in the pregnancy and childbirth

摘要
Objective: to know the meaning of the spiritual dimension of health care during pregnancy and childbirth, in light of the thought of complexity. Method: qualitative research, based on complexity thinking. Twenty-seven puerperal women with children between one month and six months participated. The data was collected between August and November 2021, from individual interviews, with guiding questions. For the analysis of the data, the Thematic Analysis was used. Results: three themes were obtained: The inseparability between spiritual care and emotional care; Connection between spiritual dimension and uterus - sacred temple; Alternative and complementary techniques of spiritual health care. Conclusion: the spiritual dimension of health care during pregnancy and childbirth can be considered an essential resource in the awakening of autonomy, security and comfort, in addition to enabling favorable outcomes in childbirth by strengthening the maternal-fetal bond.
