Boehringer Ingelheim, a top 20 pharmaceutical producer contract manufacturing company, is riding high on the booming demand for contract biologicals manufacturing capacity. The company has 30% worldwide market share for mammalian cell-based production. The company also operates microbial fermentation-based biologicals manufacturing capacity. It is developing an exclusive synthesis business to provide third party contract manufacturing of intermediates for new pharmaceutical entities, using the company's plants.
