摘要
Vexol 1% ophthalmic suspension is a topical ophthalmic steroid suspension containing rimexolone. Preclinical animal studies indicated that rimexolone is not mutagenic, has a low degree of systemic toxicity and has low toxic effects on fertility, reproduction and fetal development. Topical ocular administration of rimexolone 1% ophthalmic suspension results in low serum concentrations. Clinical studies showed that rimexolone 1% ophthalmic suspension is safe, well tolerated and has less propensity to raise intraocular pressure when compared to prednisolone acetate 1% and dexamethasone phosphate 0.1% Rimexolone 1% ophthalmic suspension was shown clinically to be efficacious in the control of postcataract surgical inflammation and in the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis. It was also demonstrated to be equal in efficacy to prednisolone acetate 1% in the treatment of uveitis.
