Developing Dynamic Modeling for Simulation of Horizontal-Axis Wind Turbine Performance Analysis

摘要
This paper is aimed to investigate the performance parameters of a horizontal-axis wind turbine (HAWT) system using the MATLAB to develop the system dynamic modeling, which can divide into four parts including wind speed model, rotor blades, generator and electronic control system. The data in the wind speed model can be obtained from experiment after signal processing. The approach of investigating the rotor blade's parameters, which can import into system dynamic modeling for simulating, is based on the blade element momentum (BEM) theory, which also can provide the performance curves for matching the generator. The approach of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is used in electronic control system for keeping the best efficiency of HAWT system at different wind speed. Finally, the results between simulation and experimental data are compared and discussed with very good agreement.
