Precarious Employment-Poverty-In Work Poverty in Local Contexts of Social Underdevelopment

This analysis uses the results of the project SIPOCA 4 "Implementation of a public policy design system in the field of social inclusion for the Romanian Ministry of Labour and Social Justice", selected on Operational Programme Administrative Capacity, co-financed by the European Union from European Social Fund. Based on the data referring to poverty rate and the poverty in work on local, county and regional levels, this analysis model identifies structural and contextual factors and the mechanisms used by these to influence the social development.Within this analysis model the key variable is the occupation. This concept is operationalized by quantitative aspects, like the employment rate, and qualitative aspects, like the type of employment, focusing on the precarious employment. The high rate of precarious work in Romania represents one of the main factors leading to a significant high rate of poverty in work comparing to EU, but also to former socialist countries in EU.
