An Effective Machine-Vision System for Information Security and Privacy using Iris Biometrics

摘要
In the today's computerized world the biometrics are playing a vital role for the computer security. The person identification is becoming very essential at various places like banking, passport, credit cards, smart cards, PIN, access control and network security etc. because of its importance. The physical characteristics or behavioral characteristics of human include fingerprints, face, hand geometry, voice and iris biometrics. By using biometrics, a person could be identified based on a "individual person" rather than "key" or "password". In this paper, we have proposed an effective machine-vision system for information security and privacy using iris biometrics. The proposed system uses the Canny Edge Detection Algorithm for localization of an iris, the Wavelet Transform as Feature Extraction Technique, the Euclidian Distance as a Classifier.
