A Comparative Study on Low Carbon Development Pattern in China, Japan and Korea

The transition to a low carbon economy is the process of decoupling economic growth and carbon emissions growth, and CO, intensity of GDP is the main indicator to measure the low-carbon transition. Based on decomposition analysis of CO, intensity of GDP in China, Japan and Korea for the period 1971-2010, Combined the background of economic growth and structural changes in three countries since the 1970s, This paper presents a comparative analysis for the path and drive mode of the three countries' transition to a low-carbon economy. Moreover, the evolution of industrial structure, energy efficiency and carbon emissions is presented in this paper, which provides the inspiration for China's low-carbon development.
