Development of vow cleaner for no-till drills

摘要
For the european no - till farmers producing very high yield levels residue management is the main problem. In opposite to their US colleagues, they have much more residue after harvesting on their fields and much less time between harvesting and seeding. In order to improve the seedplacement under European conditions, the US no-till technology has to be adopted to European conditions. For this reason a project was started at the Universitiy of Hohenheim in 1996 with the aim to develop row cleaners for no - till disc drills. Over three years several row cleaner versions were developed and tested in the soilbin of the University and under field conditions, until one version fulfilled the demands that a row cleaner has to meet under high residue conditions. In tests canola was seeded after triticale under no - till conditions. According to the row cleaner versions, the emerging rate of canola was improved significantly in comparison to the test plots without row cleaners.
