摘要
The application of the static path approximation (SPA) and the ensuing SPA+RPA approach to the description of hot nuclei is described. These methods, based on the path integral representation of the partition function, include the effects of large amplitude statistical fluctuations and provide an accurate evaluation of thermodynamic properties in correlated finite systems. The RPA correction to the SPA is here evaluated exactly and particle number and spin constraints are implemented. Application to the description of pairing and shape fluctuations in heavy nuclei is made.
