Tuning Performances of Tuned Double Liquid Column/Mass Damper

摘要
The tuning performances of tuned double liquid column/mass damper (TDLCMD) under different sloshing effects of liquid and perturbation coefficients of structural frequency are studied by using the phasic difference method in this paper. The control equation of TDLCMD is formulated and numerical simulation is also carried out by MATLAB. Results show that the sloshing effect of liquid adversely affects the tuning performance of TDLCMD and makes it worse than TMD when the structure is in steady state; when the structural frequency perturbs, TDLCMD can achieve a tuning performance level better than that of TMD with the settings in a specific sloshing phasic difference interval. Moreover, the minor TLCD in the backside space of the major TLCD can fine tune the TDLCMD system.
