摘要
The current dynamically changing internal and external conditions influence the performance of national economies and are strongly reflected in the different dynamics of the development of sub-national territories. Based on strategic objectives in the area of regional development, it is highly relevant to identify both quantitative and qualitative differences in the development of regions' competitiveness. The aim of the present paper is to outline, through the modified macroeconomic n-angle method, one of the possibilities of analysing the current status of selected competitiveness indicators of the regions. The application of the chosen method enables to quantify the relatively broadly defined economic and social level of the regions in the conditions of the self-governing regions in the Slovak Republic in the period 2005-2015. From the calculated values of the final competitiveness index we conclude that there has been a continuous increase in the final value of the overall competitiveness index and significant inter-regional divergences have not been identified (but this does not indicate that regional disparities have existed long-term).
