摘要
Long-term evolution of fillet beaches at Saugatuck Harbor on Lake Michigan was investigated through application of a proposed method for calculation of bypassing rate at inlets or around coastal structures. The method is based on implementation of a 2DH hydrodynamic and sediment transport model that provides spatial distributions of sediment transport vectors. Initial and existing bypassing rates at the harbor were calculated to establish sediment budgets for different time intervals over the past 100 years and evaluate the response of the neighboring beaches to the presence of the harbor.
