摘要:
Empirical evidence has settled controversy over the effect on children of being raised by same-sex parents. However, other issues have emerged that are related to this family model. The aim of this study was to identify discourses linked to the desire to be parents and to the construction of kinship in lesbian women and gay men parents. We analysed a documentary project ('Familiarizate') produced in Spain by the Spanish national Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Transsexuals, and Bisexuals. We found that the narrative on the desire to be parents was mainly shaped by previously established definitions of marriage and family. We also identified a set of interesting paradoxes and tensions in some of the discourses that challenged traditional models of family and kinship.
