摘要
This work deals with the study of language policies of new speaker families of the Galician diaspora in Buenos Aires who are implied in the process of revitalization of Galician (Reyna-Muniain 2015/2018). The aim of our paper is to identify the role of a multilingual school that includes Galician in the language revitalization projects of new speaker families. We seek to contribute to the research field of minority communities' diaspora, which have been extensively studied in reference to identity and culture (Rodriguez Brandeiro 2007), but not so much in relation to the family language policies aiming towards language revitalization (Spolsky 2018). The ideological and strategic dimensions identified in the interviews with new speaker parents of Galician and other members of the Galician educational community seem to coincide with the discourse in favour of the maintenance of the heritage languages as well as with the positive attitudes of the Argentinian society towards linguistic diversity.
