Investigation of quadratic stark effect on Rb D2 atomic line

摘要
Experimental study of the influence of an electric field on the atomic hfs levels of D-2 line of Rb atom, transitions 5S (1/2) - 5P (3/2), has been performed. For this purpose a sapphire cell with internal electrodes used to produce a constant electric field was elaborated. By using the saturation absorption technique the frequency shifts of all 12 atomic D-2 line transitions were recorded. The results are compared with the theory.
