摘要
The bicondylar angle is the angle between the diaphysis of the femur and a line perpendicular to the infracondylar plane. It was measured in 184 adult human femora ( 136male and 48 female) from Gujarat region at M. P. Shah Medical College Jamnagar. Mean values obtained were, 8.88 and 10.50 for right male and female, and 8.76 and 10.83 for left male and left female, respectively. Obliquity of femoral shaft exhibited sexual dimorphism with statistically significant higher value for female on both the side. Angle was higher in Gujarat region compared to North Indians in both the sexes bilaterally, while compared to English femora it was lower in left male and female and higher in right male and female.
