Early prognostic significance of lymphatic vessel invasion in gastric cancer

In gastric cancer, the significances of lymphatic invasion as a prognostic factor are controversial and have been rarely investigated. We have prospectively studied to investigate the values of lymphatic invasion as a prognostic factor in early result of 362 gastric cancer patients who were underwent potentially curative surgery. In multivariate analysis for survival function, lymphatic invasion of ly2 and ly3 grade was an independent pool prognostic factor in early results after gastrectomy was done in gastric cancel patients. Therefore, a careful search for lymphatic invasion in gastric cancer maybe provide useful information for identifing patients who are at high risk.
