摘要
Using lidar attenuated backscattered power as a proxy for cirrus cloud structures, a method based on wavelet transform is developed to identify the internal structures in cirrus from the 10-year high cloud dataset obtained at the University of Utah Facility for Atmospheric Remote Sensing in Salt Lake City, Utah. The results of two lidar case studies detecting various cirrus structures are presented. Using this method, we are developing a climatology of midlatitude cirrus inhomogeneous structural properties that can be used for aiding climate research.
