摘要
Traffic c ongestion i s o ne o f t he s erious c oncern in smart cities. The immense increase in the traffic o n t he roads is due to the rapid rise in the population and consequently the increased number of vehicles on the roads. Therefore, posing the society to various detrimental and environmental threats, mainly increased air pollution and traffic c ongestion. To c ope u p with these issues, some suitable measures needs to be taken, to reduce their effect. The various measures, techniques, and solutions to such problems have been discussed and analyzed in this work. This paper also suggest some approaches to improve the overall congestion generated by the heavy traffic. A c omparison of various traffic monitoring techniques is also covered in this paper.
