摘要
Knowledge in research domain is fundamental requirement in achieving proposed research outcome. Acquiring knowledge within limited time and resources found to be effective through virtual learning. The goal here is focused on designing an efficient ANGKASA research knowledge organization framework that takes the knowledge gaining process a step further. Space science is an ideal specialty for developing a shared database, because outcomes measures are precise, national standards have been established, and atmospheric science has large scale data collection rich with information. A questionnaire of database experience and needs was developed, reviewed by space science research students from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia based in Institute of Space Science (ANGKASA), Faculty of Engineering and built Environment and Faculty of Science and Technology. We had a 52.5% response from 61 surveys. Only 15% students strongly agree it is easy to obtain space science related knowledge. 62% students strongly agree that space science knowledge is important to do research in ANGKASA. Space science domain research students have interest in having access to a centralize research knowledge organizer in collecting the research relevant materials both literature and data.
