Bilateral calcinosis circumscripta in a German shepherd dog with additional incidence of a metastasising osteosarcoma and bilateral acropachy of the forelimbs

A case of bilateral idiopathic calcinosis circumscripta near the olecranon is described in a 9-year old female German shepherd dog. There was no indication about other diseases during first presentation. In the left olecranon developed an osteosarcoma of teleangiectatic typ which metastasised to the precardiac pleura and the lung. The thoracic tumor seemed to cause an acropachy in the forelimbs. The compression by the extensive subcutaneous calification in the left elbow is discussed as cause of the osteosarcoma.
