The Thinking Styles of Physical Education Majors

This paper examines the thinking styles of Physical Education (PE)-major undergraduates by adopting the Scale of College Students' Thinking Styles. The results revealed the characteristics of thinking styles in these students and the modulation of different thinking styles on professional commitment. The results showed that PE majors achieved the highest scores for legislative and liberal thinking styles, and that external and judicial thinking styles are best predicted the scores in specialized courses. The latter pattern has led the author to conclude that students with external and executive thinking styles are more suitable to choose PE as their major.
